Mental Health Services, The Airforce school
In February, 2015, Manas Foundation held a series of workshops in The Airforce School for students of 6th to class 10th. The workshops were envisaged as a safe space for expression of unique, individual perspective of the students, and to gain insights into their world. This enabled open dialogue on the concerns faced by the students and paved way toward problem-solving attitude.

Objective

- To demystify and raise awareness about pertinent mental health issues and concerns which form a part of student-life.

- To provide a space for self-exploration and expression of mental health concerns.

- To generate greater acceptance and tolerance of psychological concerns, and discuss strategies for building positive peer relationships within the classroom and beyond.

- To stimulate open dialogue among the students and teachers on the concerns.

- To promote further interventions aimed at positive self-development and personal growth at the individual as well as collective level in school.

Age-specific modules were developed for each class on different themes in collaboration with the school management. This was based on their observation of the predominant issues and concerns of the students for their respective classes.
